The AV Homeless Veterans Stand Down 2004 is a ONE-DAY event that will offer a wide array of special programs and services specifically designed to help homeless veterans live as self-sufficiently and independently as possible.

Enjoy Comfort, Safety, Good Food, Live Music and Care

Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner will be served. Hands-on assistance will be provided directly to veterans and their dependents. Aggressive outreach to those veterans living on streets and in shelters who otherwise would not seek assistance.

Clinical assessment and referral to needed medical treatment for physical and psychiatric disorders, including substance abuse.

Long-term sheltered transitional assistance, case management, and rehabilitation. Employment assistance and linkage with available income supports and supported permanent housing.

Legal aid, food, medical care, counseling, clothing, blankets, and other emergency services will be provided.

This 1-day event will be the first of three this year. Next year, there will be another 3-day Stand Down, an overdue gift to the veterans of our community who continually struggle with everyday life because of the effects of war.
