NADP Helps NH Veterans at Liberty House
The National Alliance of Dedicated Patriots (NADP, www.dedicatedpatriots.com) recently presented Liberty House , New Hampshire's only transitional house for homeless veterans, with a donation of $500.
Last winter, we had over 500 veterans in New Hampshire without a home. Yet government aid reaches a mere 10 percent of them. That's why Don Duhamel, a Vietnam Veteran himself, established Liberty House last spring.
The programs most successful at rehabilitating homeless veterans are those which recognize veteran status. When veterans suffer from Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder or other service-related disorders, the kind of support they need can only come from fellow veterans who have experienced similar trauma. Liberty House in Manchester brings this proven model of success to New Hampshire. Liberty House provides residents with daily necessities, a substance-free environment, peer support, and a case management team connecting them to the training and resources necessary for a sustainable transition out of homelessness.
